Anyone competing in UK circuit racing will need a licence provided by Motorsport UK. To do this, we would recommend contacting The Motorsports School to arrange taking your ARDS test. Upon successful completion your ARDS test you will then be able to apply to Motorsport UK for your race licence and compete at a national level. Yes and this is a service we strongly recommend using as it can be invaluable in teaching braking points, car positioning, heel and toeing, car control as well as giving you the opportunity to overlay data against another driver to see where further improvements can be made.
This depends on where you are wanting to test. Each circuit has a different booking system. For example MSV Testing for circuits such as Bedford Autodrome, Cadwell Park, Donington Park, Oulton Park and Snetterton can be booked directly with MSV. Other independent circuit such as Anglesey, Croft and Silverstone have their own booking systems so you will need to contact each of them directly.
It is not a mandatory requirement to have insurance but it is something that we recommend, especially for hire cars. Of course we hope that you do not incur any damage but it does happen and it can be costly to repair.
